We listen first

What an Adult ADHD Evaluation Covers

An adult ADHD evaluation covers your current symptoms, how long they've been there, how they affect work and home, and whether something else could explain them. There is no single test for ADHD, so the evaluation is a clinical conversation backed by your history.

The National Institute of Mental Health describes what a thorough adult evaluation can include: clinical interviews, behavior rating scales or symptom checklists, a review of your mood and your current and past medical conditions, and, where it's available, input from people who know you or records from childhood. For adults, the threshold is five symptoms of inattention or of hyperactivity and impulsivity, instead of the six used for children.

History matters because other conditions can look like ADHD. The CDC lists sleep disorders, anxiety, depression and certain learning disabilities among problems with symptoms similar to ADHD.

At Falcons ADHD Plus, the evaluation happens in a live video visit with Nicole. Before the visit you answer a few questions about your history. In the visit, we listen first, then build your personalized care plan together. Not a cookie-cutter script.

What we ask about

Adult ADHD Symptoms the Evaluation Looks At

The adult ADHD symptoms the evaluation looks at fall into three groups, described by the National Institute of Mental Health in its overview of ADHD.

  • Inattention: difficulty paying attention, keeping on task, or staying organized.
  • Hyperactivity: often moving around, feeling restless, or talking excessively.
  • Impulsivity: interrupting, intruding on others, or having trouble waiting your turn.

In the visit, Nicole asks how these show up for you now, at work and at home, and how far back they go. Entrepreneurs, busy parents and late-diagnosed adults often describe the same pattern in very different words, which is why the visit is a real conversation and not just a questionnaire.

Four steps

How the Online ADHD Evaluation Works

The online ADHD evaluation works in four steps: book a time, answer a few history questions, meet Nicole by video, and leave with a care plan.

  1. Book a time

Start with the two-minute fit check online, or call or email us. We'll find a time that works for you, and most new patients are seen within 48 hours of booking.

  2. Answer a few questions about your history

You answer a few questions before the visit, so the time with Nicole goes to you and not to paperwork.

  3. Meet Nicole by video

The evaluation is a real video consultation, not just a questionnaire. Nicole goes through your symptoms and history with you. For controlled medication, Prescription Drug Monitoring Program records are reviewed at each visit.

  4. Leave with a care plan

You and Nicole build the plan together. If medication is part of it, the prescription is sent to your pharmacy of choice. Most patients receive their first prescription within 24 to 48 hours of their initial consultation, subject to clinical appropriateness.

Before your visit

How to Prepare for Your ADHD Evaluation

To prepare for your ADHD evaluation, gather a few things that make the visit faster and the picture clearer. None of them is required to book.

  • A list of your current medications and supplements.
  • Any earlier ADHD testing, report cards or other childhood records, if you have them.
  • Two or three concrete examples of how symptoms show up at work, at home and in relationships.
  • The name and location of the pharmacy you want to use.
  • A private spot with a camera and a steady internet connection.

Nicole is licensed in Colorado and North Carolina, so you need to be in one of those states for the visit.

A common question

ADHD Evaluation vs. ADHD Testing

ADHD evaluation and ADHD testing are often used to mean the same thing, but no single test diagnoses ADHD. A diagnosis comes from a clinical evaluation: an interview, your symptom history and how those symptoms affect daily life.

Some clinics add in-office psychological testing. This practice operates exclusively via telehealth, so your evaluation is a clinical evaluation by video, not an in-office testing session. People searching for ADHD testing in Denver, Raleigh or Charlotte can be seen from anywhere in Colorado or North Carolina without a drive to a testing center.

One flat fee

ADHD Evaluation Cost: $350

The ADHD evaluation cost is a flat $350 for every new patient, whether you've been diagnosed before or not. It covers your full comprehensive evaluation with Nicole. No surprise pricing.

We do not bill insurance. Superbills are available on request for HSA/FSA. After the evaluation you choose how to continue: a monthly protocol or pay per visit. Both are laid out on the pricing page.

What comes next

After Your ADHD Evaluation

After your ADHD evaluation, you have a care plan and a follow-up schedule. Follow-ups are monthly through your first 3 months while we dial things in, then every 90 days once you're stable, with direct messaging in between.

If medication is part of your plan, ongoing prescriptions, dose changes and refills are handled through ADHD medication management.

Questions answered

Adult ADHD Evaluation FAQs

These adult ADHD evaluation FAQs cover who can book, how fast, and what happens afterward.

Do I need a previous diagnosis to book an ADHD evaluation?

No, you do not need a previous diagnosis to book an ADHD evaluation. Every new patient visit is a flat $350, whether or not you've been diagnosed with ADHD before, and it covers your full comprehensive evaluation with Nicole.

I was diagnosed with ADHD years ago. Do I still need an evaluation?

Yes, every new patient starts with a new patient evaluation, even with an ADHD diagnosis from years ago. It is the same flat $350, and it is where Nicole reviews your history and builds your plan with you.

How soon can I get an ADHD evaluation?

You can usually get an ADHD evaluation within two days. Most new patients are seen within 48 hours of booking. The patient panel is kept small by design, so new spots are limited.

Will I get medication after my ADHD evaluation?

Medication after your ADHD evaluation depends on what Nicole finds. Most patients receive their first prescription within 24 to 48 hours of their initial consultation, subject to clinical appropriateness. Controlled substances require a live video evaluation before prescribing, and results are not guaranteed.

Can you evaluate my child or teenager for ADHD?

ADHD evaluations for a child or teenager are decided case by case. Children and adolescents are seen and treated at the provider's discretion. If you're hoping to bring in a younger family member, reach out and we'll let you know if it's a good fit.

Do you provide ADHD evaluations for disability or workers' compensation?

No, ADHD evaluations here are for treatment, not for disability or workers' compensation. The practice does not provide workers' compensation evaluations, disability documentation or expert witness services.
